Spring/Summer Schools in Digital Curating and Cultures of Engagement

We offer intensive 3 day thematic Spring and Summer Schools which provide a sharp burst of provocative and engaging professional development along with an opportunity to share perspectives with researchers and practitioners working in the cultural sector. Both courses will explore contemporary debates and practices, and involve work on live project examples which could be fed back into practice in your workplace.

Spring School 2011/12: Cultures of Engagement [date tba]

Intended for professionals working inside and outside the cultural and creative sector we will cover methods, issues and theories of engagement. Case studies will look at a range of creative activities and practices used to engage with different audiences and communities. The course will involve presentations from practitioners and researchers, practical exercises,discussion and networking.

Summer School 2011/12: Digital Curating [date tba]

The course is designed for practitioners from museum, galleries, and other cultural or heritage organisations. We will look at the methods and issues around the use of digital media to document and interpret collections, develop exhibitions and engage with audiences. We will also discuss digital media strategies and applications in museums, online, interactive and mobile technologies as well as the various stages for the design and production of digital content.

 

Attendance at a Spring or Summer School can earn 10 postgraduate credits as part of a programme leading to a Certificate, Diploma or full MA degree.
